Cupcakin Baking Shopa dessert company founded in Berkeley, California by Lila Owens as a home-based cupcake-catering business in 2007, arrives in Atlanta, according to plans filed with the city. On Tuesday, Owens did not immediately respond to What Now Atlanta’s request for comment.
Cupcakin’ authorizes the opening of a storefront at Selig’s Buckhead Shops mall, at 2221 Peachtree Rd NW Suite B. An estimate $100,000 will be devoted to the construction of the 1,350 square feet bakery, according to a building permit application.
Cupcakin’ Bake Shop is already listed on the property’s sitemap which shows incoming business sandwiched between Poke Town (Firehouse Subs before that) and Kumon in the space most recently occupied by CamiCakesanother cupcake.
Cupcakin’ “artisanal cupcakes” are “baked daily with premium local ingredients: a bit of heart and soul goes into every batch,” the company’s Facebook page says. “Taste the difference.”
At the Berkeley store, full-size cupcakes sell for between $3.95 and $4.25 each while minis are available for $1.95 each. Gluten-free and vegan options are available, and flavors include everything from chocolate chip cookie dough to lime pie to red velvet. Cupcakin’ also offers cakes in flavors such as Lemon Raspberry and Strawberries and Cream.
The Buckhead Shops is a 30,376 square feettwo-level mall, is located on Peachtree Road at Biscayne Drive.
