Catering Insight – Vacancy: Design Consultant, Hallmark Kitchens

Hallmark Kitchens is looking for a new Design Consultant to join its four-person design team.

Working from the Distributor’s office in Edenbridge, Sevenoaks, the role will also require regular travel to Central and Greater London for meetings and some travel to other parts of Kent and the UK as required to render visit to customers and suppliers.

The successful candidate will work closely with Kevin Jennings, MD of Hallmark (who reports to him) and Sales Manager Paul Searing on his own design and build projects. Hallmark works in many different areas of the restaurant industry such as hotels, bars and restaurants, catering establishments, schools and office buildings. The day-to-day activities of this role can be varied and will include working with some of the UK’s most exciting hospitality groups including Dishoom, Aqua, Corbin & King, D&D and the Dogus Group, to name but a few. name a few. Project sizes vary widely from £50,000 to £1m.

Responsibilities will include attending on-site and client meetings to develop design briefs for new projects, working with other consultants on projects to ensure design work is fully coordinated with all others aspects of the project and help develop both new-build and renovation projects from the initial design stages through to final design and installation. The role will include working with other departments within Hallmark and broader project design teams at all stages to ensure that any issues that arise are dealt with effectively and that all design work fully meets the customer specifications. As the Distributor’s customers, projects and suppliers are based across the UK, frequent travel to London and occasional travel to other parts of the UK will be an essential part of this role.

Candidate Specification

Experience Requirements: Hallmark is looking for someone with previous experience designing start-up commercial catering projects

Skills: Experience working in AutoCad is essential, experience with Revit and 3D rendering is a plus.

As it will involve working on multiple projects at once, this job requires someone who is well organized and has good time management skills.

Being an office with a collaborative work environment, the ability to work well in a team is essential.

Having a friendly and professional demeanor is essential for this role as it is customer oriented.
