Christine House wedding and events venue opens in former car showroom in Rainham

An empty car showroom has been transformed into a wedding and events venue.

Christine House is located in the former Medway Autos center on the A2, just outside Rainham.

Business Development Manager Emily Lockwood talks about the new venue

The building has been empty for 13 years and the new venture has been in the works for two years but has suffered delays due to the pandemic.

The showroom is now a banquet hall for up to 450 guests, alongside a wedding hall, kitchen, reception area, bar and lounge.

It is available to hire for wedding receptions and ceremonies, awards nights, conferences and corporate events, while the lounge serves afternoon teas and will soon offer brunch and a evening menu to the public.

Wedding packages include a toast master and wedding coordinator, welcome drinks and canapes, a three-course meal, bar, DJ and venue decor.

The venue is named after manager Christine Adeosun, who has many years of experience catering for large events.

Emily Lockwood, Christine House Business Development Manager, said: “This building has been idle for 13 years and it’s a two year project and now we’re close to completion which is so exciting.

“Reminds me of a venue you would find in London which has been fitted out on the A2. The attention to detail and finish is really top of the line. The team that owns Christine House are detail oriented.”

Christine House will work with other local businesses such as wedding planners and caterers, and will even rent out her kitchen when not in use for an event.

Emily added: “It is really important that Christine House benefits the whole community. The owners are real proponents of working with local suppliers, so it’s not just us who benefit from Christine House, it ripples through the entire community.

“We’ll be working with catering suppliers, party suppliers and beverage suppliers. We’re going to keep it as local as possible.”

The lounge and bar opened on April 7 and is available for group bookings such as baby showers.

Emily said: “The Beulah Lounge will be ideal for the local community – offering breakfast, brunch, afternoon teas, evening grills, cocktails – it will be a really great place for the family and friends.”

Christine House is looking for talented people to join her team. Contact Christine on 07843273591.
