A POPULAR wedding venue in the borough is exploring the possibility of continuing the popular “outdoor” trend.
After a tough time during the pandemic, the wedding industry is said to be “booming” to tie the knot of beloved couples.
The popular four-star Kilhey Court Hotel, based in Standish, Wigan, has hosted countless wedding ceremonies and receptions over the years.
Coronavirus restrictions have forced people to have outdoor weddings, but as these have started to become popular Kilhey Court is well placed to continue the outdoor trend with its 11 acres of landscaped grounds and gardens.
Wendy O’Farrell, wedding co-ordinator at Kilhey Court, said: ‘The wedding industry is getting back on track and thriving after the lockdown.
“For several months couples have had no choice but to hold parts of the special day outdoors due to restrictions, but this trend continues after the pandemic.
“With over a decade of experience in the wedding and events industry, I’ve seen many trends come and go, but I think the outdoor wedding trend is here to stay.
“It’s always fantastic to see all of our newlyweds and their friends and family happy on their wedding day, which really makes this industry a pleasure to work in.”
Instead of using the venue’s garden just for a photo op, it can now be used for outdoor seating and dining in keeping with modern styles and themes.
With views over the Worthington Lakes, Kilhey Court can accommodate up to 350 guests in its suites or outdoors, with a highly experienced team to oversee the big day trip.
The team takes care of all elements of the wedding, from venue hire to catering and personal touches, making sure to support a couple every step of the way.
For the chance to view the beautiful gardens and layout of the rooms, Kilhey Court is hosting a wedding showcase from 11am to 2pm on Sunday 25th September.
