Local sandwich shops to discover in Billings

Looking for a local place to eat? Here are some sandwich shops serving sandwiches, wraps and more!

Chalet Market has been part of the Billings community since the 1980s and has been enjoyed by many. They also have gluten-free and vegetarian options. Chalet Market has two locations: one on 24th St. W. and a downtown location in the First Interstate Bank Building. In addition to artisan sandwiches, they also offer a selection of desserts and sell Made in Montana products at each location.

Off Main Deli is located in the heights and has been in business for 25 years, with the owner born and raised in the heights. Made-in-Montana products are used for their sandwiches, including the bread, which is sourced from Grains of Montana. There are also a few breakfast and kids items to choose from. Stop in store or order online. Off Main Deli is open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. They are closed on Sundays.

The Staggering Ox on King Ave. W. is another local favorite with catering services and specialty sandwiches. They have the Texas Land Grab: a sandwich with beef brisket, Monterey Jack cheddar cheese, lettuce, and drizzled with barbecue sauce. The Staggering Ox is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Lisa’s Sandwich Den is located in the heart of downtown Billings at 2908 1st Ave. N and serves delicious sandwiches. They also serve homemade soup; this week’s special is the potato cream. Lisas’s Sandwich Den is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The TOPZ Sandwich company also bakes its fresh bread every day, open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Great Harvest Bakery has been in Billings since 2006, making nutritious bread from scratch daily. They have a variety of sandwiches, salads and cereal bowls to choose from. Great Harvest has two locations open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Poly Drive store is open from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays. The second location on 32n and Central is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The Evergreen Cafe on W 13th Street serves a selection of sandwiches and salads and makes its own kombucha in its Big Sky Kombucha bar. Evergreen Cafe also serves charcuterie boards for special events. They are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. They are closed on Sunday and Monday.
