Morenas Event Venue updates the city’s event venue options with flexible, open vendor space for weddings, bridal showers, birthday parties and more.
Designer Brittany Hoskins will cut the ribbon on Sunday, October 2 at the Morenas event location, 4470 Breton Road SE in Grand Rapids.
Hoskins said when she saw a need in Grand Rapids for modern, updated event spaces, she decided to step in and create one.
“Our team travels throughout Michigan and surrounding areas to provide incredible design assistance to everyday people,” Hoskins said. “In doing so, we came across the beautiful Grand Rapids, a place rich in history. The hospitality was second to none, but we noticed that the experience provided to guests did not match experiences we’ve seen in other locations. We wanted to bring change. The industry was a bit outdated and lacked a trendy new perspective.
Hoskins said she’s focused on bringing this fashionable prospect without the high price tag.
An open vendor space, Morenas will allow parties to bring in their own catering and bartending teams to save money on their events. The venue also rents items of all types to decorate the space on that special day, such as velvet sofas, centerpieces, flower or plant walls, backdrops, mirrored tables, flower arches, selfie stations and more.
Morenas is designed to provide solutions to some of Hoskins’ biggest problems in the wedding industry – price, options, luxury and functionality. According to her, an average wedding in Michigan costs around $30,000. Hoskins’ goal is to offer couples a better way by providing a luxury experience for a fraction of the cost.
The venue offers eight-hour rentals for weddings, including bridal suites, linens, an event attendant and more. The space can accommodate 250 guests and can be divided into separate ceremony and reception areas.
Additionally, Morenas offers local photographers a membership option to use the space. Photographers may use the venue and its decor for client photography and are billed monthly. Membership, which is limited to 10 photographers, costs $275 per month and provides access to the space from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
