Second major trophy for Aberdeen events venue

An Aberdeen events venue has won its second national success in as many weeks.

It’s another taste of that feeling of victory for the P&J Live team.

P&J Live was named Best Conference Venue (401-1100 Theater Style) at the 2022 Conference and Events Awards, beating out other shortlisted attendees Etele Plaza, Hilton London Bankside, London Hilton Park Lane, The Belfry Hotel & Resort, The Mermaid London, Whittlebury Hall & Spa and Wyboston Lakes Resort.

The Conference & Events Awards, produced by Global Conference Network Events and hosted by comedian Tom Allen, took place on Friday July 1 at Old Billingsgate, London. The awards are presented to recognize achievement in the conference, exhibition, consumer and corporate event, agency, venue and association sectors.

This award comes just a week after P&J Live was named Venue of the Year at the AEO Excellence Awards.

Nick Waight, Managing Director of P&J Live, said: “We are delighted to have received this award, recognizing the outstanding conference facilities and dedicated team we have in Aberdeen. To have won two awards in just seven days is absolutely outstanding.

“We have worked very hard since reopening to attract new business and return to the site, but with determination and a desire to work together to put Aberdeen on the map, our strategy is proving to be very successful.

“The site offers a ‘one stop shop’ solution, housing an in-house team of experts that includes audio visual and IT services, exhibition services, catering and marketing services all under one roof. This allows the site to to offer a unique and flexible service to organizers without having to contract a multitude of external third parties. Inclusive packages are offered to cover each of these service areas, regardless of the size of the conference space rented.

“But of course we couldn’t do this without our fantastic team and the support of our operating company, ASM Global – it’s great to have this recognition.”

The venue had to prove its credentials in an entry submitted to a large panel of judges, who considered the venue’s cohesive, team-centric approach to service delivery, its sustainability efforts, its ability to attract and retain customers and post-covid innovation and marketing strategies. .

The jury commented: “It was an impressive and passionate entry, showcasing a very flexible and diverse range of spaces within the venue, including accommodation, with a good focus on guest experience.”
