Soho Home has just unveiled its new collection, and it pays homage to one of the biggest design movements of the season.
The interiors label, which is an offshoot of the Soho House brand, draws inspiration from Rome, Mumbai and Nashville to celebrate evasion – an aesthetic that continues to dominate interior design trends in 2022.
Responding to post-pandemic travel developments, the getaway movement shows no signs of slowing. Homewares play an important role in transporting us to distant shores – and Soho Home’s new collection is the epitome of that. modern decor idea in all its sunny glory. But why are they getting the trend so well?
With locations on four continents including Asia, Europe and North America, Soho House knows a thing or two about global design. This collection focuses on their newest branches in Rome, Mumbai and the next location in Nashville which is slated to open this month.
Why is escapism fashionable?
According to the designers of Milc Interiorsthe need for escape and tranquility has accelerated over the past 18 months – but they predict the trend will continue for brighter seasons to come.
“Designed to help lift your mood the moment you walk through the door (or step out into the garden), this trend celebrates color, pattern and glamor in abundance,” adds Rockett St. Georges Co-founder Lucy St George. “From bright colors to the rise of tropical patterns, this trend is a maximalist’s dream.”
The Soho Home Escape Collection
Responding to demand for on-trend textiles and unique accessories, Soho Home unveiled its most eclectic collection yet. The pieces celebrate colors, shapes and patterns from all continents – to create a cocktail of cultures exclusive to Soho Home.
Their Rome store, which opened in San Lorenzo last October, influenced the collection’s confident shapes in soft Italian terry. Retro inspiration Roland chair (around $2708 / £1995) is a direct nod to the styles seen at Soho House Rome.
Meanwhile, to celebrate the bedrooms of their upcoming home in Nashville, Soho Home has designed an Archway Bed (/around $8135 / £5995) with a tall, arching headboard (seen above) that exudes the style of the Tennessee. If this bed is any foreshadowing of what we can expect from Soho House Nashville, then we’re really, really excited.
For their print designs, the brand looked further east to Mumbai, where it drew on Indian west coast artisanal influence. Hero items include the Kendrick Cushion (around $136/£100), which will transform your modern bedroom ideas immediately.
If you can’t visit the new Soho House locations in person, fear not. This collection will bring the beauty of escapism into your home without the plane ticket. We are adding items to our cart right now.
