Beijing 2022 Winter Games organizers said Yanqing Olympic Village will offer a series of user-friendly services to ensure the Games are athlete-centered. This was reported by the Xinhua News Agency.
Yanqing Olympic and Paralympic Village is located in the mountains, some 900 meters above sea level. It will host more than 1,200 participants from 90 countries and regions for the Olympic Games and 500 participants from around 30 delegations for the Paralympic Games.
Considering the altitude and the low temperature in Yanqing, the village has a warm interior corridor that connects all the residential and public spaces.
From the Village, athletes can take a cable car or shuttle to the alpine ski site. After the competition, they can hurtle down a track that connects the National Alpine Skiing Center to the Village, thus avoiding the change and dismantling of equipment.

On the catering side, a total of 678 dishes of various styles will be offered to athletes in the three competition areas of Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou.
“The menu, developed over almost four years, is designed to meet the different needs and dietary requirements of athletes while taking into account religious diversity”, – said Song Xueying, operations manager of Yanqing Olympic Winter Village.
“The 2022 Winter Olympics coincide with the Spring Festival in China. We will add special Chinese and Western dishes, so that athletes can enjoy their dining experience here and try new dishes”, – Song added.

In terms of epidemic prevention and care, the Village General Medicine Clinic has 18 departments including emergencies, surgery and internal medicine.
A medical support team of 200 will provide athletes and team officials with basic ambulatory service 16 hours a day and emergency medical services 24 hours a day.
Green plants, books, soothing music, and fitness equipment are placed in the isolation room or temporary isolation point.
The village will begin its trial operations for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games on January 23 full-time for 53 days until its official closure on March 16.
